A few things to know about SL's patron saint.
Tonight at the National Television Awards in London, Joanna Lumley was award with the Special Recognition gong, something which got the Absolutely Fabulous legend a little choked up.

Posing in the Winners room at the 02 Arena, Lumley beamed after a magical video tribute full of praise from Prime Minister David Cameron, Sir David Attenborough and director Martin Scorsese.

Scorses recently directed Lumley in The Wolf of Wall Street, and called her a “wonderful actress,” according to the Radio Times

Attenborough praised her political prowess and activism on behalf of the Gurkhas.  “She was a considerable television personality, and when she stepped out of the mold it was rather surprising,” Attenbourgh said.

“I love you so much!” Lumley said afterwards. “This is so strange, to see my life layed out in front of you. I’m so touched by all those things people said.

“I’m so touched that Martin Scorsese could remember who I was! David Attenbrough, my hero – life doesn’t get better than this. Thank you, with all my heart, thank you.”
