ABC is switching things up this season! After seven years of the same formatting, the After the Final Rose post-finale special will air live, as opposed to previously taped, immediately after The Bachelorette finale. They will also be airing the finale of The Bachelorette on Sunday July, 22 from 8 to 10 p.m. instead of Monday July 16, when the show usually airs.
Why is ABC doing this, you ask? For many reasons, according to EW.com. First of all, to prevent spoilers. After we figure out which bachelor Emily choses we are immediately tuned into the After the Final Rose special where we find out what really went down since the magical moments we just witnessed. Secondly, season 3 of Bachelor Pad is premiering Monday July 23, when hysteria over who Emily chose, who was denied, and who ended up on the new cast is at an all time high.
Wise move, ABC. We’ll be sure to tune in, but read on for more details on this change up.
The change in scheduling has fans left with many unanswered questions. If hometown dates are July 2, and the three bachelors are narrowed down to two on July 9, then what will air in the week between? According to examiner.com, the Men Tell All special will air Monday July, 16 with the finale airing that Sunday. The Men Tell All special is exactly what it looks like, a special where all the men reunite to tell their story, recount the good, the bad, and the intimate. My only question is how they can do this without spilling any secrets from the finale, which will not have aired yet.
As of right now, the four men left vying for the heart and hand of Emily Maynard are Arie, Chris, Sean and Jef.
On the previous episode where the group traveled to Prague, according to E! News, the men had some very interesting things to say.
Jef told Emily, “I wanna date you so hard and marry the s–t out of you.” While Arie, slightly more seriously, said, “Can I tell you something? I’ve been thinking a lot about all of this and you. I think Croatia did it for me. I think I realized I love you.”
The episode where Emily takes the remaining four bachelors to her hometown to meet her parents and see where she grew up airs tonight, July 2, on ABC at 8/7 Central.
