A Football Player, A Prince And Now A Soldier

From the sound of it, ABC has been using the Village People’s line-up as their template for selecting the “Bachelor.” The Futon Critic has more:

U.S. Navy Lieutenant Andy Baldwin, M.D., 30, an undersea medical officer for a special operations dive unit stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, has been selected to star in the tenth edition of ABCs popular romance reality series, when The Bachelor returns to the network in the Spring of 2007.

Are people still watching this show? I can’t understand how they could be when Flavor of Love is on the air–it’s like The Bachelor without all of the pretending that anyone is deluding themselves into thinking that an actual relationship is remote possibility. And a clock seems like a hell of a lot more useful trinket to be walking away with than a rose. At least you can watch your fifteen minutes of fame as they tick away.

ABC’S NEW “BACHELOR” IS TRULY AN OFFICER AND GENTLEMAN, NOT TO MENTION A DOCTOR AND A WORLD CLASS TRIATHLETE [The Futon Critic]
