Anderson Cooper broadcasted live last night (August 27, 2012) from the levee that was breached 7 years ago as he provides coverage on Tropical Storm Isaac from New Orleans.
The CNN anchor spoke to viewers from the 17th Street Canal levee as the storm approached and was expected to make landfall a day before the anniversary of the widespread destruction wreaked by Hurricane Katrina.
Anderson could be seen texting on his iPhone multiple times during breaks from the broadcast.
Cooper is a busy man these days, from fielding questions about the status of his love life, to the second season of his upcoming talk show.
Anderson announced that actress Kristin Chenoweth will co-host the second season premiere of Anderson Live.
“I’m very excited @KChenoweth will be my first co-host on#AndersonLive for the premiere show sept 10. We have a lot to discuss! @anderson,” Cooper tweeted to his nearly 3 million Twitter followers.
In its second season, Anderson Live is shaking up its format by featuring new co-hosts each day, according to Broadcasting & Cable.
“We’ve got a lot of fun, great things planned for the new season. I am really excited to be joined by daily co-hosts and look forward to switching to a live format, which allows us more freedom to cover topical issues as well as connect more with the viewer at home,” Cooper told the website.
Much luck to Anderson in his second season.
