The British tabloids and newspapers were rightfully excited for the birth about the royal baby boy. Check out their covers announcing the big news that we gathered in the gallery.
So where is we know so far.
“We would like to thank the staff at the Lindo Wing and the whole hospital for the tremendous care the three of us have received,” the 31-year-old Duchess and Duke of Cambridge said in their statement. “We know it has been a very busy period for the hospital and we would like to thank everyone – staff, patients and visitors – for their understanding during this time.”
2. New parents Prince William and Kate Middleton celebrated the birth of their baby son with takeout pizzas. The future King’s mother and father ordered two pizzas to the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington at around 8:45pm.
3. It is understood that RAF Search and Rescue helicopter pilot William, 31, will now enjoy two weeks paternity leave, as allowed by the Ministry of Defence. Kate, 31, will take maternity leave, although it is not known how much time she will take off.
4. Kate and Wills have yet to release their son’s name, but he will be addressed as HRH Prince of Cambridge, a title that has not been used in over 190 years.
5. What will Prince William and Kate Middleton name their son? Right now bookies are saying the new favorite for the Prince of Cambridge is James. That moniker currently has 2-1 odds of being chosen, surpassing the earlier leader among boys’ names, George, which is now 5-1, along with Henry—Prince Harry’s real name.
