2012 Teen Choice Awards: Backstage Cuddles And Great Candid Moments [PHOTOS]

July 23rd, 2012 // Leave a Comment

Ah, youth.  The Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, CA was bursting with it last night (July 22nd) at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards, co-hosted by Kevin McHale and Demi Lovato.  Sophia Grace Brownlee and Rosie McClelland from The Ellen DeGeneres Show picked up a surfboard for Choice Web Stars (in pink tutus, naturally), but methinks they cared more about their photo op with Justin Bieber.

Jonah Hill thanked those who finally recognized his talents, heading to the stage to take a bow for 21 Jump Street (Choice Movie: Comedy).  “I got nominated for an Oscar earlier this year, and I lost out to a guy named Christopher Plummer…And I’d just like to point out that he’s not nominated for anything tonight. So I’m better,” he told the audience, half of whom have no idea who Plummer is.

Taylor Swift swept yet another awards show, picking up five surf boards for Choice Female Artist, Choice Country Artist, Choice Singel By A Female Artist for “Eyes Open,” Choice Country Song for “Sparks Fly” and Choice Movie Voice for Dr. Suess’ The Lorax

No Doubt performed their brand new single, “Settle Down,” and Bieber belted out “As Long As You Love Me,” after picking up surf boards for a whole host of categories, including Choice Fashion Icon (Male) and Choice Summer Music Star (Male).

The cast of The Vampire Diaries scored Choice TV Show, SciFi/Fantasy, and Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder scored Choice TV Actor and Actress: SciFi Fantasy for their roles in the CW hit.  Somerhalder picked up a board for Choice Male Hottie because, well, isn’t it obvious?

The events we’ll see Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson at together are numbered, which makes my lower lip wobble a bit.

What was your favorite part about last night?  Let us know in the comments section below.
